A/N: Well... Might as well demonstrate the fearscapes. And I know eventually the group is going to go out and about. It just all depends on whether or not they take small groups or large groups for whom is gonna be apart of this. [Preferred everyone so they can experience a fearscape, but meh...]--- “Everything is said and done Everyone has had their fun Time to make my exit from this Fairytale My departure was foreseen From the very beginning Assume life of insanity Sayonara
Hello, Nice to meet you you seem familiar Have I met you before? Goodbye, Sweetie Nice to see you Haven't talked in quite a while...”
A young woman's voice is heard and beckons them forward, drawing them into a blank space. But once they stepped in it began to changed. Growing and spurting from the blankness, embracing them. With the world pretty much forming itself its quite possible they stepped into someone's fearscape. Or, maybe, they've gotten lucky and found the bad guy's? Very unlikely, but they can look around now as the area finishes painting itself. The area now looks like an old, partially burnt out, mansion. Once they stepped into the unknown person's fearscape, they couldn't step out for heavy, dark oak double doors slam behind them. The place is huge, dark, and damp despite the burnt flesh smell leaking from some distant room. The first room they are in is the entrance hall, its spacious and uninviting. Pretty typical of a “haunted house” type in decor with the peeling wall paper and spider web filled ceiling. Above their heads, if they look up, they can see a half falling glass chandelier, it glistens red and parts of it are burned black. Another thing they can note is the moment they stepped into the feascape they can feel someone watching them. Maybe its the dark colored cat that waltzed its way a crossed the floor, blood red eyes sparkling with intelligence as it does. Or maybe its the two kittens, one light and one dark, attacking each other as they follow behind the seemingly bored cat. Before anyone could speak the sound of a crow cawing echos in the room, through the bird isn't seen. As well they also hear in the distance the panting of a feral sounding dog, a hunter waiting to pounce. Beyond their closet vision they can see a crumbling set of stairs, something is hanging from the banister at the top of the stairs. To the left of the stairs is a door. To the right is a caved in wall, probably meaning they won't be able to cross the upper level there unless they inch a crossed a wall or jump. Nearest to them, on their left is a low burning torch, next to it is an oil lamp. The lamp seems to still be in working order, even if a little low on oil. Faintly they can hear creaking coming from the only seen room, as well as very soft and sleepy sounding footsteps coming from the second floor.

Leon looks ahead of him and sighs as he turns back to the group. "Great....how in the hell did we end up here of all places? This looks like some ripoff of the castle from castlevania...it's kinda creepy. Well....we came this far, so no going back. No turning back now so what do you guys want to do?"
He turns his attention to the others and looks over each of them in turn. "If you guys are for this, we can head in. I suggest we stay together though."

Their fortunes had changed quite quickly. They'd been walking for some time before they'd wandered into this area and to say that it was both interesting and creepy was an understatement. The world formed around them as they walked until solid double doors had formed behind them and firmly slammed shut, blocking their path back to relative safety. Damian had gone back and had pulled on the door, testing how firmly it held. "Well, that's reassuring." He said sarcastically when the door did not give in to his insistent tugging.
He stepped away from the door and cast his gaze around inside, a chill immediately going up his spine. The place had the whole 'haunted house' aesthetic going, that was for sure. Was this what a fearscape was? And if it was, was it one of theirs or that of an entirely different person? "Well, might as well go forward." Damian responded to Leon's query. "Not as if we can go back or anything."

Alice glanced around, wandering off just a bit to explore the area. "We should definitely stay together. Someone is bound to get hurt or killed being off by themselves." She turned back and returned to the group and crossed her arms. "So what kind of things do you think we will run into?" Needless to say, Alice was feeling a bit of apprehension, although she was sure the rest of the group was feeling the same way. They would be idiots to walk in there without any worry at all.

"From the look of this place?" Makoto asked, checking her pistol and ammo supplies. "Pretty much anything. From vampires to zombies, every horror movie cliche in the book has lived in one of these types of places."
She returned it to its holster and looked around, checking the weight of the katana she'd found in her starting gear. Hadn't needed to buy one after all, just equip it. Good. She had limited supplies.

Brianna looks around from Leon's shadow, seeing the torch she notes to herself her previous realization of most of the group's elements. So she walks past Leon and picks up the oil lamp, examines it, then passes it to Leon. Next she looks over the torch, it doesn't seem to be rigged to anything that she can tell. And, despite the fact she has this weird feeling about this place and she just KNOWS something is watching them, being able to see is better than not... So she picks up the torch. For a moment the chandelier above them shakes, a couple red stained pieces falling and crimson colored shards fly everywhere. “Whoops,” Bri whispers as she holds out the torch for Damian. “Um... I think you may be of the fire element... right? And... um... I, uh, bet a passive power of fire is to keep torches burning.” While the torch is being held out the soft, sleepy footsteps upstairs stops. The woman's voice stops for a moment before a scream is heard. Its a young child's voice. Its a sound of anguish and fear. The scream came from the second floor and the noises behind the only doorway suddenly increase. What sounds like a snarling animal slamming its body into the heavy door echos in the entrance hall, the three cats zip up the stairs, yowling as they go. Then, while the snarling grows, the woman begins singing again. “I was never meant to be This paintings main centerpiece Hidden in a corner my outlines are fading The days have turned into night Darkness has consumed the light Assume life of insanity sayonara”

Leon takes the oil lamp in his hand as Bri passes it to him. "Great...a lamp. Well, this will come in handy, thanks a lot Bri."
When he hears the sounds that follow, he freezes. "Whoawhoawhoa this is NOT okay. What the hell is that? Was that a scream we just heard? Dude, what if someone else is in here? They could be getting hurt! Damn....what do we do now? Do we look for a way out, or do we try to help whoever might be in here? Argh....too many questions....for now, the most important thing."
He leans down on the floor and pulls out his kunai to make a diagram on the floor. He draws 2 X's and three O's. He looks up at the group and carves as he speaks. "Despite whatever might be in here, we need to come up with a game plan or we're just moving blindly. The X's represent me and Damian, and the O's are Brianna, Mako, and Alice. First thing is that we need an objective. We don't know what or who we are dealing with. We have limited options at this point though. We can't take the first floor entrance out, so that means we have to find another way out. Additionally, if this is one of those 'fearscapes' that Shade was talking about, someone else might be trapped in here, or we could have accidentally walked into one of our own scapes. We gotta be careful, but is our objective just to find a way out, save whoever is in here, both, or make the saving part a secondary objective? The other question is, are we gonna split up into smaller groups to cover more ground, or stick together as a larger target? There are both benefits and drawbacks to both options, so think carefully about it. If we do, I'm thinking one group of three, and a group of two. If that's the case, we can use this area as a rendezvous point while one group explores upstairs, and another takes this floor. It's your call guys, and if you have anything to add or suggest, go for it. We need as many options as we can get."

The screams made Alice cringe. "Think she's scared of going mad?" Given the strange song, that seemed like a logical guess. Not that one could blame her for being afraid of that. She glanced over to Leon who was leaning over a spot on the floor and drawing his X's and O's.
Alice leaned down as well and listened to him. "Well, we can't leave whoever is in here. Although, if she is beyond saving..." Her words trailed off and she didn't bother to finish. "Personally I think we should stick together. Strength in numbers, y'know?"

"Either way, this place is creepy as hell." Damian said in response to Makoto's remark about what they might find and looked up in surprise at the chandelier as it suddenly shook the moment Bri picked up a torch. Yep, definitely creepy. He didn't make any additional remarks but instead accepted the torch when Bri handed to him. "Let's hope you're right." As he gripped the torch he could almost swear he saw the fire flare up a bit but quickly brushed the thought aside for another time when he heard the footsteps stop and a scream ripped through the air almost immediately afterwards. He winced at the volume of the sound and put his free hand up to his ear. "Geez, she's definitely got a pair of lungs on her."
The child's scream, followed by more singing and now accompanied by the snarling of an animal didn't seem to bode well. Thankfully Leon had an attack plan at the very least and Damian stood with the others, torch still held firmly, as the other young man explained what he had in mind. "I'm with Alice on this one." Damian added after the girl had spoken. "If we're going to split up at all then it should be into two groups, it's definitely not a good idea to be alone here." He shifted his weight slightly with a thoughtful expression on his face. "We should look around quickly but if we don't find anyone then we try to find a way out."
It didn't sit well with Damian to potentially leave someone behind in their nightmare but if they stayed longer than necessary to find one person then they could get the entire group killed.

"If one person has to go alone, I'll do it," Makoto offered. "I agree that that's not the ideal option here, since there is strength in numbers, but I'm an experienced horror gamer and I know how to be careful, plus, since I'm strike class, I have a good chance of taking down anything that comes at me if I hit it fast and hard. Still, I'd prefer we all stayed together."
She frowned. "That little kid screaming... I don't know if there's anyone else in here, guys. It might just be part of the fearscape. Some kind of trap." She shook her head. "Remember, guys. Every move we make, we have to think like this: if a character in a horror movie did this, would I throw popcorn at the screen and call them an idiot? If the answer is yes, for the love of God, don't."

"Hello, Nice to meet you you seem familiar Have I met you before? Goodbye, Sweetie Nice to see you Haven't talked in quite a while"
The red head sighs as she looks around and listens to the others. Something in her ticks and she waits for everyone to be done. Brianna nods as the others hover over the diagram or offer advise. She raises her head, her gaze pretty blank as she sighs again, and points to the door that is now shuddering from the force of the animal. "That's the only place we can go expect up..." Bri had decided to speak what was on her mind and what she found important, if anything they should stick together to make it upstairs. Once there they could decide. "But we do need find our way out. We have a torch and an oil lamp with very little oil, which is convenient seeing how it looks dark up there... But. Three groups would not work. We would have to go in two groups if we split up so no one would go alone..." She pauses as she looks around before nodding. "If and when we do split up we need to take into account our personalities as well as our classes. I personally think Damian and Leon would work best as group leaders, both of them have demonstrated patience and flexibility. Though Damian also is a go getter person from the fact he actually started the conversation when we first met. He would best be suited with someone like me. Alice, you and Mako would be best suited working with Leon. Although, since either way, Alice is a mostly unknown factor because of how little I've seen of her compared to the others, I suggest she picks her own group when the time comes," Brianna's eyes focus and she blinks before shaking her head and looks to the ground. "Uh... I mean... I'm just suggesting. But... That does kinda make some sense, r-right?" She's unsure where that came from... Then again her mother always did say she noticed details a look too much... That's part of the reason she was punished so often...

Leon stares at her for a moment before sighing, shaking his head, and standing up. He takes a deep breath and nods to himself before patting Bri on the head. "Yeah...you're right. We're getting ahead of ourselves here. Thanks for catching on to what we missed, and sorry, I guess I let the pressure of the situation get to me, and I ignored some things I really shouldn't have. You rock Bri. Let's go up, THEN we figure out what to do. I'm not liking that banging sound getting louder and louder."
He looks to the rest of the group and gestures toward the stairs as he starts to walk. "Lets get moving, preferably fast."

"That does make the most sense." Looking at the group, it was hard to say where she would be a good fit so far. She did only meet them not too long ago. "Well, I'll stick with Bri's suggestion if we do split into groups. May as well, right?"

Damian gave a low laugh at Mako's comparison of this game to a horror movie and what they might do in reaction to character doing something particularly stupid. It was fitting enough but he knew that, if such an event arrived, he'd probably object vehemently to any of them going off on their own regardless of experience.
Thankfully Bri interjected with her own idea. "Sounds good to me. It can't hurt to try it anyway but if we do have to split up," He shrugged as if dismissing the notion. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it." As he finished speaking he walked with Leon up to their next destination and raised the torch he held just slightly so that they'd be able to see more of what was around them, even if it was only slightly.
He wasn't the type of guy to take things seriously, normally he'd jest about stuff even if it was dire. But he just didn't know... They were not just playing a game after all, this was their lives they were putting at risk. However, he was confident that they could get through this since it wasn't a fearscape that was tailored for any of them. He did not envy whoever was being targeted by this thing.

Brianna nods and follows behind the the others heading for the stairs. As they climb she feels a sense of dread, but once they all reach the top step they can no longer hear the pounding of the animal against the door on the floor below. And once they get to the top Bri gasps. Severed arms and legs litter the floor before them. Some burnt. Some still bleeding as if freshly torn for their sockets and joints. The burnt ones have shiny thread running through their crusted and congealed ends, it glints in the fire light. Looking to the side Bri sees the thing that had been hanging from above before is an arm missing a hand. She can taste bile as she takes a shaky step back. But, beyond the bodies and to the left is a long and pitch black hallway. In front of them is another set of double doors, one door is opened a crack and crying can be heard from in there. To their right is the mostly caved floor, but a small portion of it seems to have survived what ever had happened here. On the other side of the dropped floor sits four pair of glowing eyes. Three sets are a bloody color, the fourth are a haunting crystal, no, pale, no, ice, no electric... blue, really intense blue. Bri looks to the group horrified. "iNSaNiTY The weight of the air is torture PSYCHoPaTHY Don't know who I am anymore iNSaNiTY The illusion of ignorance CaPTiViTY Why don't you take a chance?"

Leon looks sick for a moment as he forces himself to not throw up. He looks around at the scene, horrified. "What the actual hell....This is awful...Are these real, or just part of the fearscape? Man, this is sick." He takes a deep breath as he kneels down. 'Come on....get it together Leon...stay focused on your goals, not the gore.'
He stands up looking disgusted, half from the feeling in his throat, and the other half from the sight before him. "Alright, screw the endless darkness and crumbling hall. I don't trust either of those, and given this, I trust my next few words even less. Let's take the way toward the crying child. We better just hope that the child isn't the equivalent to an Angler fish lantern."

Alice nodded and followed to group to a bloody sight. "Well, that's lovely." She said sarcastically. Truth was it disturbed her. The stench in the air, the sight before her, all of it designed for just the right impact on whoever laid eyes on it. Alice glanced over to the rest of the group, wondering if this worried them as much as it did her. This wasn't even her fearscape and it was having this effect, so what would her's do to her?
"This child better not be." She said in response to Leon. "We'll just have to be prepared for the possibility. Anyways, shall we? Before the stench starts to get to us?" She gestured to the way forward. The quicker they left, the better.

The sight that met them at the top of the stairs was... less than pleasant. "Ugh, disgusting." Damian said with an expression that was definitely that of a disgusting person. It was difficult not to actually vomit as he looked at the various severed limbs on the floor and that was even before he looked up and laid eyes on the arm hanging above their heads. "Well, I don't know about you guys but I don't think I'm going to be able to eat for the next week." He tore his eyes from the gruesome scene as he said this and took a deep breath to help quell the nausea in his stomach, instead walking after Leon towards the room with the girl was crying.
"So, crying girl that's potentially bait or freaky glowing eyes belonging to things that could kill us. At least whoever did this has imagination." Damian muttered quietly as he walked, holding the torch aloft with one hand while reaching back to grab Bri's wrist with the other to guide Bri along with them like an older brother. Just in case she was frozen in shock by the sight.

She swallowed and tried to breathe through her mouth.
"Still, the other way's probably.... more fragrant. Or.... less fragrant. More...... not-smelly."

Walking into the room they can see in the center of the room, lit by moonlight from a high up roof plated with glass, a young child hunched over. In front of them is a couple of bodies, in their arms is a smaller one, and around them are many more. If they walk into the moonlight they can see all the people's eyes are sewn open and their mouths shut, each of their limbs have been sewn into place including their individual fingers. They can hear the child crying loudly, their dark blue hair matted down with something dark and dried. Bri stopped short, becoming a heavy weight for Damian to hold as she looks down at the people. She trembles. "iNSaNiTY The weight of the air is torture PSYCHoPaTHY Don't know who I am anymore iNSaNiTY The illusion of ignorance CaPTiViTY Try to stop it from corrupting"
Her body shakes more and light footsteps can be heard behind them. When she looks back all she sees is three pairs of crimson eyes. She stares a short moment before looking back to to the child as they begin to sob out words, she misses the bright blue eyes that flash open when she looks away. "Mommy... Mommy... Wake up... Wake up!" The child's cries breaks Bri's heart, but she can't move. Scared, sickened, worried. Too many feelings. "Please... Please, Mommy..." The child hugs so tight to the person, their mother, that some of the strands of metal string strain and her skin rips to reveal the severed flesh. "... PLEASE...!"

Leon watches the child in the room with sadness. He places himself into their position mentally, and feels heartbreak at what he sees, rather than any form of disgust. He eyes the people around him, and when he sees his partner shaking, he calmly places a hand on her shoulder. He lightly squeezes her shoulder and says, "I'll....let me try and talk to them." He walks forward slowly, staring at the child as he does so. "Hey.....um...kid?" As he walks the floor creaks underneath him. When he he gets about midway between the group and the child when the floor underneath him gives out and he falls.
"WOAHHHHHHHHGH!?" As he falls he just barely manages to reach out his hand and grab onto a plank of wood. The wood bends, but does not yet break under his weight as he holds on for dear life. The wood is still cracking as his weight slowly breaks it. He begins to panic as he looks down to see pitch black darkness below him, waiting to engulf anything that falls in.
"GUYS, WE HAVE A PROBLEM, A REALLY BIG PROBLEM....I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS GONNA HOLD! I DON'T THINK I'LL SURVIVE THIS FALL! WOAHWOAHWOAH, NOT COOL, NOT COOL!!!"

As they walked into the room the torch Damian held illuminated some of the horrors within. His dark brown eyes widened at the sight of sewn fingers, mouths, and eyes. Finally his gaze landed on the child who was the source of the sound, hair matted with some dark substance that something deep in the pit of his stomach said was blood. Damian's heart skipped a beat and he went still as he heard the light footsteps padding up behind them and he looked over his shoulder. There, in the darkness of the doorway, were the pairs of eyes that had been on the other end of the hallway.
Damian could hear the heart-wrenching cries from the child for its mother but he was focused on those eyes. Things only took a further turn for the worst when Leon tried to approach the kid and the floor fell out from under him. His eyes widened with alarm as he looked back to Leon but thankfully he'd managed to grab the edge and Mako was already on the ground and reaching for Leon's hand.
With that end of things already being taken care of Damian turned to fully face the eyes, the rest of the group at his back. His heart was going overtime at the thought of whatever could be behind them even as he held the torch out in front of himself in the hopes of keeping them at bay. This was even as he uncoiled part of the chain around his wrist in case he needed to use it as a weapon.

Bri heard the shout and jerked from her slumped state. Jerked her hand away from Damian, "Sorry, Day." And then rushes next to Mako, grabbing onto her sides and trying to hold in her place. "Take her hand, Lee!"
Meanwhile the three sets of red eyes blink before turning and leaving, a meow sounding from them. Although, the blue eyes stay there, partially closed as they watch the scene unfold.

He looks up at his companions as the board starts to break further.
"Guys....I can't, the damn board is gonna break if I do! I'll try!" He thinks about it for a moment before he realizes that it's do or die. He calmly tries to swing himself to gain momentum to grab her hand. He pulls himself up with all his force and reaches for Mako as the board he is holding breaks. His hands graze Mako's touch before he falls. A look of terror and fear is seen on his face as he screams and falls into the darkness. Eventually, the screams, and his image die out.

As the child cried for her mother, Alice's heart felt broken. The longing the child voiced was one very familiar to the free runner. It was only when Leon fell through the floor that Alice was pulled out of the little reverie she had mistakenly found herself in. She rushed forward and stood next to Mako, ready to help pull him to safety. It all was for naught though, as Leon fell through the boards.
Alice looked up for the strange glowing eyes to turn away, all except for one pair at least. 'Well, we can't leave him there.' she thought. With a quick glance down the hole, she turned and started to head to the stairs. "I'm going to go find him, if anyone wants to join me, feel free to."

Damian relaxed as the red sets of eyes retreated and he coiled the chain around his wrist again only to look back at the others in alarm as the sound of Leon's fall reached his ears. Shock held him in place for a moment, dark eyes wide in surprise. He was only broken from this as Alice headed towards the stairs, saying that she was going to find him. Damian nodded, showing that he was in agreement. "Yeah, if he has any chance of surviving that then we need to look for him at least." he said and followed after Alice, the hand that wasn't holding the torch gesturing for Mako and Bri to follow them.

Bri slowly stands, staring down at the abyss where Leon had fallen into. She felt scared, anxious, worried, and confused. This was a game, right... surely it couldn't kill him, nor us... Maybe... Maybe Leon just found a way out... I bet he's alive! Hope fills her as she sways back and forth, the lyrics not really heard anymore as they start up once again. I hope he's okay... I really do... Please... Be okay... “My heart Why wont anyone Notice the torment This madness is causing Terror of my own Self-conscious mind's Persecution I won't survive like this” Meanwhile a growl can be heard from outside the pool of light the group is in. Bright yellow eyes creep up over the edge of the stair case, heavy panting with it. For a moment those eyes roam around before landing on the people illuminated by the fire light. Then it steps up onto the landing, crunching bones and squishing organs as it paces forward. It growls, a crazed look in its eyes they seem to raise a bit. The creature, the wolf, moves into the view of the flames and they can hear a new voice -not quite boyish yet not quite girly- swear loudly, “Shit.” Then, behind the group comes the sound of foot steps, no, running steps and Bri's shriek as two bodies hit the ground. If anyone looks back they'll see that Brianna had been tackled to the side away from the hole and she's cowering as the person yells above them, “Don't go down there! Don't you dare go down there! Its not worth it! He isn't worth it!” But beyond them they see the child has stiffened, as if it could suddenly hear everything that is going on. Then the dark haired child stands, releasing the dead female from its grasp, the head hanging at an odd angle. Turning around the child has a large grin on its face. “Oh, Cass. Cass... You brought friends for me to play with~?” Bright blue eyes, shining with innocence, sparkle with glee as the child clasps their hands together. “Awe~ Such a pretty girl in your arms? How valiant of you~ Planning on playing knight with her?” “Shut up!” Bri cowers more as the person hovering above her looks to the child. “What the hell? Who do you think you are?” The snarling creature snaps at the group, attempting to herd them back towards the child. Who smirks at the group, “Well, well. Look here. A group of misfits? How adorable~.” Then they rock back and forth a moment before frowning. “I hate adorable... Lets see. One, two, three girls. One man. And one ungrateful brat. Is this really what you wanted, Cass? Did you really think you could get away with this? Or did you hope you wouldn't cause anyone to cry?” “Grrrah! Who the hell do you think you are you little snot,” Cass, the person above Bri, hollers. “And what do you mean? What did I do!” The child blinks, the frown turning into a sadistic smile as they giggle a little. Small arms are thrown open wide in a “look around you”gesture. Shadows rush away, the room fills with moonlight. Hanging from the ceiling are body parts. Legs, arms, head with blank gazes, and a couple torsos. Brianna chokes at the sight. Every person is dressed in fancy clothes. Some are maids, some cooks, some in suits, some in ball gowns. The wolf snaps at the group again, lunging for Damian seeing how he has the torch. “sAnIty Light is peaking through the darkness pUrIty Can't feel anymore of the stress sAnIty It's already fading away crUElty Instincts controlling me” The child sighs, shadows crawling up their body, “Honestly. You would think you would know your own handy work. Killing all those people, your family even. All that's left is three voiceless house cats. Did you rip out their voice boxes first too? Couldn't stand them telling you they were leaving you behind as well? Such an attention hungry child you are.” They smile again as the blue haired teen stares at them, jaw slacked and eyes wide in horror. “Yes. You did this. Well, I did this. But I am you so what difference does that make~...?” Bri can feel the person tense up before they are on their feet. “There is no fucking way I did this! So, screw you!” Brianna gets to her feet and feels a little disturbed as the child nods and is encased in shadows, “Don't believe me. That's fine. We can fight to the death none the less oh weak counter part of mine~.” Then the shadows burst forth in the form of a giant crow, its wings spread much the like the child's arms. “ DoN'T saY I diDN't WaRN yOU.”
