Brianna has pulled Leon to her as she sits against the wall with him. Her gaze going from the detained bird, to the wolf whom has been attacking everyone but the boy whom dropped Leon although he was still threatened, to Damian and Alice whom are both nerve ridden, to Mako with guns at the ready, to the two newcomers standing close together, back to the bird and repeat. For a moment she looks to Leon, worry on her face. She isn't so sure how he got there again nor is she entirely sure who these people are, but, for the moment, she'll only focus on the seemingly in pain male in her arms. Under her breath she is also muttering, "Yellow leaf don't forget to chew, green leaf and wrapping it will do." Over and over. She hopes they somehow have enough for the herbs, because that had to be the leaves that were talked about. Beyond that she's just paying close attention to the world around her. Vaguely she notices Cass standing in between Mako and the rest of the group, pale eye narrowed and focused.
Jazz blinks and then laughs, "Bad guys... that's new..." She shrugs and then smiles. "Well. We aren't 'bad guys'. You see that's a loose term. Many people can be 'bad guys'. As such its easy for me to say, yes, you have mistaken us for 'bad guys'. We are powerful, useful, playful, and interactive. But placing us in the generalized term is insulting. That's like saying, 'Hey. A know it all player~ I bet she'll try to shoot me because she thinks I'm evil because I'm mocking her.' I mean its just rude. But, if you want the short handed version. No. We're not 'bad guys'. We're not even necessarily your 'enemies'. At least at this time... What we are is simple. We're Inverses. We rule over this game with a firm hand and keep you stupid players in line. So. If that's what you call a 'bad guy' then I guess I lied. If not... You're simply wrong." She shrugs and straightens her skirt and giggles.
"But. Lets not let the icky details stop us from being civil. We're helping you... So... Point the gun at the ground or the wolf... But if one of us gets hit again I will make you wish you never born," She smiles sweetly as she looks to each of them. "This isn't a threat. This is a promise." The wolf is currently trying to nurse its wounds as it still growls at anyone that gets too close to it. The bird is still held down. And Bri frowns as she ends up staring directly at Mako, most of that was directed at her after all, she hopes the blonde is okay.

Zane now nods as he puts the object in his pocket, her wound now healed. He points to the wolf and the bird. "Yeah, what she said. Besides, you are the equivalent of a level one player, you can't handle one boss let alone two at once." He looks at the two creatures and sighs at the wolf growling at them.
He then looks over to his partner before asking a question. "Jazz? Can I put the wolf down?" Upon getting a nod from his partner, he takes his halo off of his head and lifts it in the air. He holds it diagonally, so it isn't above him before the halo expands. With the added weight from the halo, Zane simply lets it fall onto the wolf, unable to really lift it and simply letting it cut it in half.
The wolf splits into two, turning into shadows and fading away. He nods to himself and shrinks his halo before pointing at the bird and saying, "If you want to shoot something, shoot that."

Alice simply watched the two as Jazz began to berate Mako. The strange girl did have a point, both of these people did. "So, then when will you two start becoming a threat? When we are strong enough to put up an entertaining fight? In our fearscapes?" She questioned.

Damian looked between the two as he jerked his hand to give the chain the momentum it needed to wrap around his wrist again. Finally he just put out the hand not holding the torch in a gesture for Mako to lower her gun. "Even if they are enemies, we can't attack them." He explained with a quick glance towards the blond girl. "We don't even have our elements yet." As much as Damian hated backing down from what were potential enemies, they didn't have much of a choice. As he'd said, they didn't even have their elements yet and these guys took care of those creatures with no problem at all. Their little group wouldn't last a second.

Mako growled, tossing a glare in the direction of the Inverses, as they called themselves, before adjusting her aim towards the large bird. "You're right," she said to Damian. "No way we could take them on, even all together. But I still don't trust them."
She glared over at the Inverses, before taking aim and firing.
"Yeah, don't trip over yourselves rushing to help or anything," she mumbled under her breath.

Jazz frowns before laughing, "We're whimsical beings, Zane and I. When I feel like it, I'll cut you apart, when I don't I'll protect you from the boogie man." She bounces from foot to foot beaming. "But I will say that Zane and I are the only two even slightly rooting for you... Now... While blondie gets rid of cranky over there..." She stretches and hums a little at the feeling.
"Why do you we play a little game? A simple game. A riddle game. This riddle, of course, will either lead to you getting out here alive or lead to your deaths. All depends on if you get it right~" She doesn't even glance in her partners direction. "But first, lets have a trial round, shall we? What speaks, but is never spoken?"
Bri blinks at this question, but if this is the first to the one that will get them out alive... she doesn't mind. So, she begins to think it through. Many things speak after all. Color, thoughts, emotions... but what is never spoken...

Zane nods to himself before he gives a large smile.
"A riddle sounds fun, it gives them a chance to get help from us again! I like this a lot. If it were the volcano or the city, I doubt they would have helped. They might have even been wayyyyy more cruel. Desert and Beach would have probably ignored them."
He laughs a little as he points to Leon.
"As for any info...he has it. So we can't tell you anything or it would waste all of his efforts. See, JEM wanted to play a game with him, and he set conditions for her when he realized he wasn't going to be running away. He got a lot of important info for you, so try and answer quickly. I may have fixed up some of his wounds, but he'll still croak if you don't move fast enough. It would be a waste if he went through all of that only to die. Don't worry, I believe in you all! Give it your best shot! Warning though, JEM can be a little impatient so I suggest thinking quickly before she gets bored."

'Speaks but never spoken?' Art? Maybe?
Alice growled in frustration. This was like that one scene in a book. Riddles in the dark.
It had to mean something symbolic, right?

Damian was grateful when Mako backed down instead of pushing the issue, apparently realizing as well that they wouldn't be able to beat these guys. Of course, that relief lasted only for a moment until the strange girl spoke. Either freedom or death all based on a riddle.
His brow furrowed together in concentration and turned away from the two strangers to face his comrades instead. "Well, any ideas?"

Bri thinks about it, but shakes her head... She has no idea what the riddle is at all.

Zane sits there bored, before he rocks back and forth on his feet. He takes another look at Leon who is writhing in pain before he walks over and starts poking him with his finger.
*Poke....Poke....Poke.* "I wonder...JEM....I think you might have actually tenderized him."

'This is ridiculous.' Alice thought to herself and began to run through some more answers. 'Writing? No, reading is speaking technically. Art is an option still...'
She began to realize that it was probably going to be something connected to the game. Violence? No, you can threaten people. Fears? Threats provoke fear, therefor can be spoken. Action? Action can work. Actions speak louder than words.
"Is the answer 'Action'?"

Damian listened to what each of them said and rubbed the back of his neck with a sigh. "Ok, that's the only answer we have then." He said before he looked up and noticed Zane poking at Leon. "Hey, you break it you buy it!" He called over to the Inverse before he turned back to JEM. "Alright, our answer is 'action'"

"Ding, ding, ding," Jazz bounces on her toes and giggles. "One point for the better looking Asian~." She then spins around on one foot, when she stops she's dead serious.
"Round two, the real test, begins now."
She drops down to one knee, a white aura around her and her crystal glows as well.
"I am what you seek To get to me means you must be weak Give into instinct over the dark You've already seen the X-mark Crossing the void Quickly move before you're paranoid Failure means an end This is the riddle I lend"
She then stands with her eyes closed, glow fading. When her eyes open they glisten a moment before she flips her hair, "Alright. Go for it, Players."
Meanwhile Bri glares at Zane, "Either back off or... help him like you did her." At 'her' she jerks her head towards Jazz. Her glare intensifies.

As Damian makes his comment and Bri makes hers, Zane smiles. He turns his attention to both of them before he makes his remarks, first to Damian, then Bri.
"But...I didn't hurt him, and I was the one who fixed most of him too...does that still apply to me? Also, I did help him, but I also made sure to help my partner when she was hurt. If you can't even do that for your partner, you're a pretty awful teammate. Plus, I broke you out of your nightmare, and I told you how to help him. I can't do all the work for you, or I'd be the better teammate! When someone hurt my partner I helped her, and that's the way proper partners should work!"

Alice paced, ignoring the situation between Zane, Leon and Bri. It wouldn't help anyone if they couldn't find their way out, and these inverse people had to know the way out.
Treasure? No. Life? Perhaps? Goal? No, it wouldn't make sense for a weak person to meet their goal.
Frustration consumed her.

Damian relaxed as they were told that they were right even as it was accompanied by a jab at Mako. Whoever this girl was, she didn't seem very fond of Mako. At another time he would have told the woman to ease off but at the moment just wanted to get them out of here.
He listened carefully to the riddle, his eyes narrowed in concentration. "Ok, so it's something we've already seen. Void...." Damian had been thinking aloud but he looked to the door then or, more specifically the hole beyond the door. Struck with sudden inspiration he left the room and stood at the edge of the hole where he looked to where the cats had been seen.

Bri frowns before sighing to Zane, "Yeah... You're probably right..." She frowns deeply as the other Inverse skips over to them. Jazz looks to Zane before smiling, "He's got it... Come on then." She then grabs his arm and drags him along, down the darkened hallway in opposite direction of the hole in the ground Damian is at...
Damian sees that there is, beyond the drop into darkness [which was where Zane and Jazz came from], there is a stone reflecting the firelight. And, he may also notice, symbols written along the archway of a doorway blocked by a heavy looking stone door. And, while she was walking towards Damian and through the shadows of the fearscape, Mako feels small fingers and hands claw at her in a hungry manor. Meanwhile Alice has been left just outside the safety of the moonlight, larger and less gentle fingers ending in talons claw at her, they are almost sharp enough to cause bleeding in small and jagged cuts.
Cass had walked over to Bri, helping her with Leon. When they pause, eyes flashing a darker blue a moment before they shudder. The moon is blocked out as a a darkness covers them. The red head frowns as wisps of shadow, darker than the inkiness that has fell upon them, dart past them. Only to converge on Alice, actually trying to rip her apart. Bri feels Leon's weight fall completely on her as Cass ducked out to race forward as the shadows had converged. Now the newcomer is stuck outside while the less new newbie is being attacked. Brianna's now glowing eyes are widen in fear, "... Oh god..."

Leon starts to come to from his nightmare as he hears the words, "...Oh god..." come out of Bri's mouth. He opens his eyes lazily as he looks at the others. He stares for a moment in shock as he looks at the creature form to encase Alice. He begins to force himself up as Bri feels something slightly warm and wet one of her hands. As he stands, he winces in pain as a few barely noticeable red blotches start to form on his clothing, lightly bleeding through the cloth. He places his hand on his stomach as he begins to run forward, leaving a small red trail behind. He weakly throws one of his Kunai as they lightly bounce off the shadow and dig into the ground instead. He gets to Alice and wraps an arm around her. He weakly yells out orders as he speaks in a very pained voice.
"Mako! Stay with Damian. Don't even think about leaving his side. Bri! You'll be alright. I don't really know who the new girl is, but stay by her side."
He stops as he feels more pain shoot up through his body. He turns his head to Alice and apologizes to her before giving a slight explanation.
"Sorry for the sudden action...just sit still. I think as long as I'm here it won't come after you. Sit tight for a bit okay?"
He drops to his knees as his body starts to give out again. He tries to still crack a joke even after he looks in pain.
"Damn....this hurts. Sorry...just a few cramps. I really shouldn't run after I wake up, it's bad for the body...haha...ha, Owww...."

Alice stood still as Damian and Mako walked away, leaving her alone in the dark. It didn't really bother her. She looked over to where Bri and Cass were when the scratching and clawing started, then it grabbed at her, at her clothes, at her arms.
Panic set in as Alice attempted to run but the grip of whatever had her tightened. As much as Alice tried to make some kind of noise, no noise arose. Just frenzied gasps. She attempted to fight back, to kick at whatever had her, she tried to do whatever she could but no hit landed. Finally, her voice arose, cracking in fear. "H-HELP ME! PLEASE!"
Leon arose to his feet despite his injury and came to her. The creature finally fading back into the darkness where it came from. She did not calm down despite Leon being there. "Thank you." She said quietly as she leaned down next to him. "You should be the one sitting still though, don't you think?" The red blots on Leon's clothes grabbed her attention. "Seriously though, don't move. Don't want you passing out again." There had to be a way to stop the bleeding, unfortunately though, Alice had nothing to stop any of it.

"The riddle, I think we need to cross this." Damian told Mako as he peered into the darkness just as the firelight of the torch reflected off of something. As he looked as close as the edge of the hole allowed, it became clear that there was a doorway on the other side. That was it, their way out.
He'd just been about to call back to the others when the chaos arose, Alice's scream of fear causing panic to race up his spine. "Shit!" He cursed and very nearly ran to her which would've left Mako behind. Thankfully Leon cried out before he could do so and Damian grabbed took Mako's wrist in his hand to be sure that she was close as he quickly strode back into the room.
The shadows that surrounded where Alice had been were so thick that they were difficult if not outright impossible to see through. The flame on the torch seemed to flicker and flare almost in response to Damian's emotions, becoming more erratic when he attempted to get through the shadows only to be met with what felt like a solid wall. "Dammit." He cursed again and called out, hoping against hope that someone had managed to get to her. "Alice!"

The screams, Damian taking her by the wrist, the wall that blocked them off.... Alice was getting hurt, and there was nothing she could do. She didn't even pay attention to the hands seeming to claw at her - she darted forward, pounding on the wall of shadow. "Let me through...! Dammit! Dammit!"
Her heart started racing, faster and faster, not just from adrenaline, but from anger. There was nothing she could do. She hated that feeling. Hated being helpless. It just proved them right, proved she was useless, but she knew she wasn't useless.
"Alice!" she called. "Alice!"

Cass stands in shock, she's silently muttering to herself over and over again. The words are most likely apologies. Meanwhile Bri stares at her hand, then the ground, finally she looks to the wall of shadow. Clenching her hand she braces her self and then runs, racing into the shadows. Her troubles are less than Leons and she looks at them. "Fucking shit!" She then grabs onto Alice's from behind, wrapping her arms around her waist. "Hold onto Leon, and step with me! We're walking out of this thing together! Now WALK!" She steps backwards, yanking with all her might to drag Alice from the shadows which seem to be afraid of both her and Leon, a little more daring against Leon but still shying away. Where ever Alice is touched by either Leon or Bri or the slight light coming from the red head she can feel all the pain, all the claws get seared away and leave her with the feeling of cool and fresh water upon her, but its not really water, just an after effect.

Leon sighs as Bri runs over to Alice, ignoring Leon's warning in the process. He takes a deep breath and forces himself to stand as he walks over to Bri. He looks at her hard before saying to her, "Please trust me Bri. Alice, I need you to hold onto my shirt. Just follow me, alright? Damian, I don't know what's going on but you seem to have a clue as to what you're doing, so lead the way."
He walks forward after Alice grabs him. He grabs onto Cass's hand and starts pulling her along. "Relax, snap out of it and lets go. Everything is cool."
He nods to himself and slowly moves as he breathes. "Okay, Just follow Damian, worry about everything else afterword."

Alice was shocked to feel Bri grab a hold of her as she began to stand and helped Leon to his feet. "Okay, let's do this." The young Asian said to herself as she listened to the two and grabbed hold of Leon's shirt. As they made their way, Damian in the lead, Alice felt a chill of the shadows still. There was no pain or clawing, but still that feeling, the cold caress of the shadows.
"So, think there will be anymore hoops for us to leap through before getting out of here?"

The shadows are gone now, no longer able to claw at the flesh they craved. So, they slip off into the night, a small bird's caw going with them as they leave...
Cass shakes their head before nodding, "s-Sorry." After a moment they flush before jerking their hand away from Leon's. "This is no place to be bold!" And with that she stormed past Leon over to where Damian is.
Brianna meanwhile smiles a very small and shy smile to the two she's with.
"w-We did it," She continues to follow-slash-lead the way to Damian. She nods to him when they get there.
