The marketplace was booming and Npc's were thrown about walking here and there as if they actually had schedules to keep. For a game, this all seemed pretty realistic, and even the conversations seemed like something out of an average day. A boy wandered around, staring at the shops and enjoying the sights as he smiled.
"Wow...this is all pretty cool. I gotta hand it to the developers, I would have never expected this sort of thing...Sad part is, I can't tell the players apart from the people. Man, I hope this isn't a single player game or anything. That would really be a bit of a buzz kill. Games are definitely more fun when played with others."
He looked left and right, exploring the city and learning about the shops and such. He smiled as he passed a mirror and stared at himself for a bit.
"Wow...my avatar looks a lot like me...this is pretty awesome actually. I even have a few weapons. My avatar looks pretty cool in general."
He looked around him again before he took a seat on a nearby bench.
"I wonder if there are any players besides me..."

As Adam "Curious" Manson always did when he started up a new MMO, he went to the marketplace in search of comrades, and maybe any freebies that other player characters were dishing out. And as all new players did, he was taking in the world and admiring every aspect of it. It all felt real, especially for a video game. His avatar mirrored his own image in real life without having to even modify it. It was incredible! From that alone, he could tell he was going to put a lot of time into this game.
Shaking out his messy, blonde hair he pushes his bangs from his eyes and gets back on track, grey eyes shining with focus. Finding a party. He was hoping for someone low-level like himself who could help him get through the game without carrying fights too hard or spoiling anything about the game. Of course, they also had to just be kind, friendly people. Those were who Adam taught himself to party up with since he first starting gaming, and it certainly hadn't let him astray this far. The tall, lanky man began looking around excitedly. In his search, he spotted one boy looking at himself in a mirror. The boy was tall with a head of silvered hair and a dark outfit. His weapons seemed to be black gauntlets, and a shield as well. But strangely, he gave off a vibe to Adam. This was someone he should have in his party. He just seemed relaxed, to be enjoying himself. That was exactly the kind of person he wanted to party up with.
Adam followed the young boy to the bench where he sat and got close enough just to hear him wonder about player characters. It seemed he was looking for a party! Adam approached the boy, standing tall in front of him. When the boy would look up, he would see a tall man with blonde medium-length hair that seemed messy, like a young boy's. His eyes almost had a shine to them, despite being a grey color. Underneath his left eye was a small bandage, the grey color standing out pretty well on his healthy, unblemished white skin. His attire consisted of a soft yellow long-sleeve shirt that was a bit tattered around the wrists and at the bottom of the actual shirt. A ribbon of tattered cloth came down from the shirt on either side, seeming to go down as far as his feet. He wore a pair of dark green jeans, brown boots covering up to his shin. On his thighs, a belt-like leather went through the jeans to provide a place for two leather pouches, one for each leg. And on his hip were two sheathed epees, not a common weapon to be dual-wielded. He smiles big, teeth showing before he speaks. "Excuse me, kid. Name's Adam. I couldn't help overhearing that you were looking for other players! Well, I just so happen to be one of those. A noob, but still a player character! Mind if I take a seat, friend?"

This game was definitely different, Jason couldn't deny that. Most games have you just in front of a tv, not anything like this. It just didn't make sense to him but regardless, he knew that he may as well enjoy himself. He'd just have to figure the rest out later.
"Well, this is different." Well, almost. The place definitely was but the only thing different about him is that he was carrying an SMG. Not bad, something stronger would be nice but at least he had a weapon and didn't have to go around kicking rats or something until he could buy something. Aside from the one weapon and ammo, he was exactly the same. Same clothes, same hair, same everything.
'Okay, now what?' He thought to himself as he wandered around the market place. Finally he saw two people. They were as different as night and day, one with bright hair and clothes, the other in dark. Regardless, he was gonna see what they had to say. At the least, they could be NPCs who could maybe lead him on a mission. "Hey, do you guys know where I can find a..." He trailed off, realizing he just about cut off their conversation. Well, since he already started talking, he continued, "Do you know where I can find a job or a mission? I'm kinda new to this game."

Jerome looked up as the two new faces began talking. He put on his normal smile and nodded to the other two.
"Oh, well, you see, I'm new to the game too. Take a seat, I already went around the city myself. I'll tell ya what I found out."
He sat down as he recounted everything he saw earlier. He found the locations of all the shops and even the guild which gives out missions.
"You see, apparently you can't take any missions until you have your 'Elements' or whatever that means. I think they mean like earth, water, fire, and air. In any event, I think we're all pretty new. I've been trying to figure some stuff out about the game, but so far I only know what I've told you. Do you guys have any clue?"

Adam shrugs, a blank, confused expression on his face. "I have... no idea. I've only just arrived and didn't bother researching the game. Wanted to play it blind, you know?" His left hand reaches up to the back of his head, fingers locking in his hair as a nervous gesture. He decides to take a seat now beside the boy, throwing one leg into the air to cross over the other as he fell onto the bench. Instinctively, when his hand left his hair it went straight to his lips. He had been biting on one of his fingernails before he realized what he was doing. "What are these element things you mentioned? I wanna get right into some quests and leveling. Gotta see what this game has to offer, you know? How do I get these elements? Are they an item?" His voice picked up with excitement, anxious to figure out this game. The immersive world was already enough to hook him. He could only imagine what actual gameplay would be like.

Jason glanced over in Adam's direction and laughed a bit, it was amusing how excited he was. "Honestly, I only started playing maybe five minutes ago. I'm still adjusting to this whole thing." Turning away from the group, Jason looked over the various crowds of NPCs. "Think any of them would know? In most RPGs that is how you get info, right? It's a start." Better than wandering around blind.
A question from earlier tugged at Jason and well, while he was around other players, what would the harm in asking be? "By the way, do any of you guys remember putting on an oculus rift on or anything like that? I'm asking because I don't own one so this doesn't make sense to me. I should be sitting on my couch right now, y'know? Or at least aware of it."

Jerome laughed.
"I'm supposed to be playing on a 3DS right now. Soo....I don't quite think that's it. Gotta hand it to the dev's though. I already tried talking to everyone I could, sad to say...nada. A few tips here and there, but nothing concrete at all. I was just told by an Npc that we gotta have the power and strength of will needed to break through our greatest fears, in order to gain great power."
He leans back and takes a deep breath.
"The hell if I know what that means, but it definitely seems interesting. Sorry I couldn't give more info."
