It wasn't often that Jared left his area or "territory" but he'd felt he needed a change of scenery. As handy as it could be in terms of his powers, even volcanoes got boring to look at after awhile. This was where his wanderings had brought him and he calmly surveyed they area as he reached the crest of a small hill. This was where one of his comrades resided, Zane. He and Jasmine, or Jazz as she was known, were usually found with one another so he would not be surprised in the slightest if she were here. Jared adjusted the strap of the rifle he carried across his back and carried on walking across the plains. Whatever he found here, it was bound to be interesting.

Meanwhile, Zane stared up into the vast digital sky as he laid down on his back. He enjoyed the scenery around him, and as he closed his eyes, he listened to the wind breeze by.
"Hmm...I wonder, what should I do today? Jazz did say she was going to be busy." As he said that, the wind carried the sound of footsteps in the tall grass. Zane blinked a few moments before lifting his head and spotting a comrade of his. He calmly stood up, dusted himself off, and walked over to the boy.
"Well then, isn't this a pleasant surprise. It's rare to see you outside of your territory. Hello then, what brings you to the plains today J?"

Sure enough, there was Zane laying on the ground not very far ahead. He readily approached his comrade even as Zane noticed his own footsteps and raised his head. "Not much, I'm afraid." He replied as he came to a stop a few feet in front of Zane. It was clear he wished to do something but many of the players were only just starting. Not many had been snared yet which meant that things were quiet to say the least. "I suppose I was just taking in the scenery." Jared briefly glanced away to the horizon before speaking again. "I'm going to guess it's a slow day for you too?"

Zane ponders on his question for a moment before nodding. "Jazz is doing things right now for shade. They told me to stay put for now, so that's what I'm doing. Other than that, there's not much to do. It's good to see that you seem healthy though. The volcanic air and atmosphere seem to do well for you. Still, per usual, you're covered in soot and ash, and I have grass stains on me."
He gestures to the area around him before looking back at Jared.
"Beautiful, it really is. You don't get many sights like this in the city I live in."

Jared smiled at Zane's observation at their clothes being less than pristine due to their particular territories. "Yes, it's a bit difficult to do laundry out here." He remarked and removed the rifle from his back. Normally he didn't like to set his weapon aside but he trusted Zane enough to do so. "It's a bit surprising that Jazz went without you. You two are usually together almost 24/7." He said as he sat down on the grass and laid his rifle across his lap, simply taking the opportunity to relax as well. The blond teen looked up at Zane as the boy spoke and took another look around as if pondering what had been said, a pensive expression on his face. "No, I guess you wouldn't. Where did you live before all of this?"

He nods as she speaks, "She didn't want me to come along. Something about about me having to be a good puppy and sit still. Shade told me it was because she didn't want me getting hurt. If I got hurt, she'd be upset. Of course, Jazz said it wasn't true, and I'm not gonna take one person's word over the other. Besides, it's not like she's always with me, last time we were together we were taking a bath in the river in her territory I believe. Then we played a game where she took away all my senses to try and get me used to my fear-scape. After that, she kissed me and said it was a reward? She really is strange sometimes, but it's rather endearing, I think."
He looks at the boy and nods. "Well...I'm from New York. New York City to be precise. Lights everywhere at night, but not really anything too...foresty there."

Jared's eyebrows seemed to rise higher on his forehead with each sentence until they were practically at his hairline, his expression the very epitome of "What the hell?". Zane certainly was right that the girl was strange, that had been apparent from the moment he'd met Jazz.
"She seems a bit possessive but to each their own, I guess." He said as he shrugged one shoulder and turned to his rifle, inspecting the weapon as he listened to Zane. "Seems a bit like where I come from, Minneapolis. Much bigger, of course."

He nods as he speaks. "Hmm...I thought of going there. Maybe I should. In any event, I'm normally not allowed to go anywhere without a partner. In that event, do you want to come with me? We can't do much here, so we might as well look for some players."
He stands up and stretches before holding out his hand. "Well do you feel like exploring a bit? Me and you together don't really have much to fear anyways."

Jared certainly wasn't about to turn down that offer and stood. "Sounds good to me. I could always use a bit of excitement." He said as he slung the rifle so that it laid across his back. At Zane's remark about how together they didn't have enough to fear, Jared smiled in clear agreement. "That much is clear. Have anywhere in mind or do we just wander?"

"Hmm...well, I did see some players by the river towards the end of the plains. Plus, there are more glitches due to breeding season. If you want, we could dwindle their numbers a bit. That way we regulate the population. The question is, what do you feel like doing? I'm really up for whatever."
He nods to himself as he starts walking forward.
"Anything in mind...wait...hmm...do you want to go to the new city place? That is where Jazz is doing her thing, and it could prove to be fun! An abandoned city....huh?"

All of those options definitely sounded very appealing to Jared and he tapped the hilt of the dagger at his side in thought. "The city seems like the best option right now. If it's new that means there could be someone else who's joined our number." An eerie smile spread across his face then, one that spoke of dark enjoyment. "If we encounter any glitches or players along the way, I don't see why we couldn't have a little fun." Jared decided as he fell into step beside Zane, adjusting the strap of the rifle so that it rested more comfortable on his shoulder.

He nods as they walk off to the city. When they finally get there, he takes a good long look at everything around him. "Wooooooow....this looks amazing! I like it, it's definitely different than what I lived in, but it still feels homey."
He takes a glance at him before saying, "Well, care to explore around a bit."
