Ripped up existence Living with hesitance A skipping beat First time to meet I promise we're not lost But this is a forgotten cost...
---
JEM walked from blank to desolate in the matter of three steps. Her gaze falling blank as she paces into the area. "Like a broken egg shell, welcome to digital hell." She sighs and raises her head as she walks to a large pile of rumble, rats scurries away as she climbs up onto it. Cupping her hands together she shouts out while shifting to her tip toes. "Heeeeelllllooooooo! Inveeeeerse ladyyyyyy~! Come out, come out, come out and play~!" She then drops down and rocks back and forth from her heels.
I hope we can get along... Dammit, Shade... You know new people make me nervous!

'Dammit, dammit, DAMMIT.'
Alia paced across the rooftop, muttering to herself over and over. A new person? In HER domain? "No. No, no no." The girl rushed over to a fire escape and started making her way down it, careful to be quiet yet quick, her eyes following JEM. Whether JEM noticed or not, this wasn't the inverse's concern. Her hands ran across the rail and eventually, Alia climbed up onto the railing and jumped, feeling a slight pain in her feet, rushing up her legs but she was sure not to show any sign of it. Not to this... Outsider.
"You're the one the top hat man mentioned, correct?" Unblinking, eyes not moving. She dragged her fingers across the brick wall as she moved closer. This new person. Alia didn't like her already.

Jazz's head jerks as she turns to look at the gir... woma... person before her. She frowns deeply. Then nods, "Yeah. JEM. Shade never specified who you were exactly, just said I would know ya when I see ya." And she did, something about this female made her skin crawl. But she herself is an Inverse so she doesn't have much to worry about... "... Nice place you have here, really... detailed..."

"Well you know, I try. Gotta keep the place pretty." She said sarcastically, her fingers still running along each brick. "So, why exactly does Shade need us to... Get to know each other?" Her arm dropped to her side and her eyes still never moved away from the young girl. "I assume you would know him better than I?"

"Boss? Yeah," She nods and hops from the rumble pile, landing gracefully on her feet. "And if we can't get along at least a little then the players will stomp us." She shrugs and spins around.
When she stops she's dead serious, "So why don't we play a get to know each other game?"

Alia laughed, it falling somewhere between cold and evil but not quite reaching either. "The players don't stand a chance against us, have you noticed how utterly weak they are? Anyways little girl, I'm game." She said with a smile. Her fingertips were drumming softly against the side of her leg.
"What fun do you have in mind?"

"How about the standard truth or dare?" She shrugs. "And I'm not THAT little, ya know."

"That remains to be proven." Alia said, more to herself then to anyone else. "As for your games, I pick truth." This girl had nothing to hide, whether that was to be a good thing had yet to be seen.

"What's your basic elements? And have you unlocked you advanced element yet?" Jazz asks quickly, glad she hadn't asked for dare... she isn't so good with dares.

"Mind and shadow. Of course I have my advanced element though, I've probably been here longer than you have." She paced back and forth, looking away from the girl for the first time. "Now, your turn. Truth, or dare?"

Jazz glares before rolling her eyes, "Truth of course."

Alia made a growling noise. 'Copycat. Stupid little copycat.' She stopped in her tracks and looked down the empty street. "Well then, have you ever been a player?" Regardless of what she was then, Alia had little intentions of fighting JEM now. She wasn't a player now. That's all that matter to her at the moment.

Jazz frowns at that question and sighs, "Does it really matter?"

"Well, I suppose not. You're an inverse now. What you were, it doesn't matter anymore." Her hands folded together behind her back. "Anyhow, I pick truth. Dares are very much overrated. There isn't exactly room for interesting dares here."

"Why did ya join our group? You don't seem the type," Alright. Since they're basically playing truth or truth she might as well use it to milk this girl for information.

"I didn't intend to join the group. Call it an unhappy accident. On the bright side, I get this lovely, lovely city." Her eyes still going over the landscape. Nothing happened here without her knowing, she was going to keep it that way somehow.
"Now, I'm going to assume you are picking truth. So, what little area do you rule over?"

"The forest. Ya know, where the river starts from?" She shrugs. "So. Truth again for you? Ever killed someone?"

Alia laughed again, "Of course I've killed, so many that I've lost count." She smirked. "Mostly players, a few NPCs I didn't quite enjoy the company of. A fair few glitches. Always fun little way to kill time." She laughed a little more, finding herself quite amusing before stopping suddenly and beginning to observe the background again.
"Someone is in my city. I CAN HEAR THEM." Her hands fell from behind her back and formed fists. 'GET OUT, GET OUT, GETOUT GETOUT GETOUT GETOUTGETOUTGETOUT!!!!!' Her mind screamed and raged. This was her territory. She would not see it tainted by outsiders.

They hadn't been exploring the city long and it had only taken a turn down a particular street to find Jazz. Beyond her was someone that Jared was not familiar with in the slightest. "She seems new." He said to Zane as he walked alongside the other boy and nodded in Alia's direction to indicate who he was talking about. "I wonder how long she's been here."

Jazz winces, the metal yelling making her head hurt a little. She looks around as well. Seeing two of her fellow teammates she waves, "Oh look... More of the team." She bounces up and down as she shouts. "OVER HEEEERRRRREEEEEEEEE~!"

Alia glares at JEM. Calling more people over, no. Less people the better. She growled, starting low and began to grow louder.
'GETOUTGETOUTGETOUTGETOUT'
Her growl came to a halt. She needed to at least make an effort, even she realized that much. "So, and all of you are?" This team, just their mere presence bothered him. This wasn't right, outsiders were far from welcome here.

As JEM called them Jared readily walked over and looked at Alia as a growl emitted from her. It was strange but not overly so. None of them were what you could call mentally stable, after all. At her question it was he who took initiative to introduce himself and Zane. "I'm Jared, I look over the Volcanic Region." He gestured to Zane. "This is Zane, he rules the Plains."
Jared couldn't help but wonder just how long this girl had been here. She definitely didn't seem like the "team player" type but it hardly mattered. He and Jazz weren't exactly "buddy-buddy" but they were part of a team. As such, they had to cooperate. "So, did Shade send you here?" He asked Jazz, ignoring Alia for the moment in the face of his curiosity.

He takes a bow as he looks to the others. "A pleasure. You've already been introduced to my name so there's no need to say it again."
He looks around before nodding and saying, "You have a lovely city. Really, it's quite appealing to the eye." He then looks over to the side and smiles at Jazz. "Hi there, long time no see."

Finally, some respect for her city. It made her so happy she almost smiled. "I'm Alia." She muttered before looking to Jared and Jazz. Ugh, all buddy-buddy as they were, and she was expected to be part of this group? No. She would see what they had to offer but no more. At least that is what she kept telling herself.

Jazz skips over to Zane, patting him on the head and pulling him down a little so she could ruffle his hair properly. Before letting him go with a grumpy expression. Then looks to Jared, "Yeah. Boss said we shouldn't all come at once. Something about team mate stress and making sure all areas are covered... What are you two doing here anyways? I don't think you had an invitation did you?" One look to Alia and her reaction tells her no, but she might as well cover all bases.

"Nice to meet you." Jared said to Alia with a nod of greeting before he glances to Jazz. He would almost say she was being accusatory if he didn't know better. "No, we didn't have an invitation. Things were getting a little boring and we'd decided to check out the new city. Had some fun with players along the way too." He smiled at the mention of the players, his mind swimming with fond memories of what the encounter had entailed.

Zane nodded. "All in all, I remembered that you came here for some mission or other that Shade gave you. I told Jared about it when he came over and we just decided to stop by and check it out for ourselves. It's awfully interesting huh? I didn't know that you came to meet the new member though."
He bows again to them in notice before rocking back and forth on his heels.

"Too many, far too many outsiders, the top hat man didn't mention that I would have to meet more than just one of you." Her eyes were glancing around occasionally. Top hat man lied to her, or did he? They said themselves that they weren't originally intending on coming here.
She shook her and got onto a different topic. "You are to help torture the players right? To dispose of those useless creatures?" She didn't need the help. She was almost insulted that the help was even offered, but she could never turn down a chance to rid this little world of theirs of the players. Their kind wasn't welcome here.

Jazz pauses a moment before nodding, "Torment, yeah. Dispose of? Depends on person honestly. But yeah, I don't mind it all too much." She shrugs. "I think we're all in the same boat... Right, Jared, Puppy?"

"That about sums it up." Jared said to confirm what Zane said about what had brought them here. As Alia spoke he looked over to the girl and raised a brow as she seemed to be having some kind of mad fit. She seemed a special kind of insane, different from the near murderous tendencies of himself and Jazz, certainly different from Zane's obsession with hope. Well, to each their own.
"She's right." Jared said in response to what Jazz said, reaching up to adjust the strap over his shoulder that kept his rifle on his back. "Torturing players is pretty much what we do. Disposal isn't necessary but it's always a fun part of the job if it comes up."
